There are no right answers. Skip any question that does not apply to your family or your event.

The ceremony

Do you know which lifecycle event you are planning, and roughly when?

Do you know where the ceremony will be held, or at least the area?

Have you checked whether your date or time falls on the Sabbath or a festival?

Do you know which languages you would like used in the ceremony?

What matters to your family

Have you talked together about how traditional you would like the ceremony to be?

Do you know what you need an officiant to be open to, such as an interfaith or same-sex ceremony?

Have you talked about which family members or friends you would like to take part, and how?

Have you thought about readings, music or customs you would like to include?

What to ask an officiant

Do you know what you want to ask in the video meeting to judge the fit?

Will you ask how they prepare with you before the ceremony?

Will you ask whether readings, blessings or wording can be adapted for your family?

Will you ask what documents they can provide or sign, if your event needs any?

Practical arrangements

Do you have a range in mind for the officiant's fee?

Will you ask what the fee includes, such as preparation, travel and the ceremony itself?

Have you agreed who in the family will be the officiant's main contact?

Do you know what the officiant will need from you beforehand, such as names or family details?
